Food Made Good Awards Winners #1 – The Warren & BuJo Burger Joint

In this blog series, we will be sharing words of wisdom from members – beginning with awards winners – to help you make food good. First up is Deri Reed of The Warren

What have you got planned in 2020 to do more and go further  – to make food even better?
I am joining The Chef’s Manifesto & want to team up with more like minded influencers to raise awareness in my country and local area.

And what are your three top tips for others looking to emulate your success?

  1. Buy local, be proud about it and make sure everyone knows you’re doing it from your staff to social media followers.
  2. Treat your staff as you would like to be treated by an employer, they are the face of my business and I care about each and every one of them.

Look after your own wellbeing first, if you’re not well its very hard to be there for other people.

Next up is BuJo, winners of the ‘Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ category:

What have you got planned in 2020 to do more and go further  – to make food even better?
Our big focus in 2020 will be the opening of our second restaurant in an iconic building in Dublin city centre and showcasing our sustainability ethos to a much wider community!

And what are your three top tips for others looking to emulate your success?

  1. Involve your team on your sustainability journey.
  2. Tell the story of your achievements, big & small, on your social channels.
  3. Engage with the SRA, their support, knowledge & guidance is invaluable.
